How Often Do You Need A Physical?
Life gets busy, but keeping tabs on your health always pays off.
Find out how often you should schedule a physical, and why.
Are Physicals Really Necessary?
You may have gone so long without a physical check-up that it seems unimportant. Yet, according to a 2014 Kaiser Health Tracking Poll, 92% of Americans believe physicals are important. The only problem is that only 62% choose to get regular physical check-ups. The medical reality is, well-visits are capable of preventing future health problems and spotting potential ones. The only question is: how often should these visits show up on your calendar?
How Often Should You Schedule?
Your physical needs are unique, so it is important that you discuss this with your doctor before penciling it in. Generally, physical check-up frequency depends on age. Take a look at the list below to see what your age requires.
If you are ages 19-21, you may only need a checkup every 2-3 years.
If you’re anywhere between 22-64, you may only need a physical once every 1-2 years.
Once you are 65 or older, a yearly checkup is recommended.
