From household dust to pet dander, inside allergens are no joke. Read on to learn how to better allergy-proof your home!
Ditch the Carpet
Almost every allergen gets trapped in carpet, so exchanging carpet for hardwood or tile flooring is one of the
healthiest home improvements out there!
Invest in dust covers for your mattresses, box springs, pillows, and comforters. Washing your sheets weekly
in hot water and drying at a high temperature will also prevent allergens from infesting your sleeping area.
Create a Pet-Free Zone
If you have a pet, reduce your exposure to their dander by making your bedroom a pet-free zone. You can
also deep clean (or remove) any carpet or rugs in your home, wash all your bedding, and remove your pet’s
favorite chair/blanket permanently.
Clear the Air
Remove your plug-in air freshener (which probably introduces chemicals into your home) and replace it with
a HEPA filter instead. You should also invest in a high-quality air filter for your forced air system.
